While hypnosis is often most effective in one-on-one settings due to its highly personalized nature, its benefits can still be meaningfully experienced in group environments. Individual responsiveness may vary, but when thoughtfully adapted, these practices can create a powerful shared experience.


Self-Mastery introduces an innovative approach that blends elements of hypnosis and meditation, known as medinosis. This program has been developed exclusively for SMI, offering teams a unique opportunity to reset, refocus, and perform at their best.

What Is Medinosis?

Medinosis is a mindful state of induced relaxation that incorporates meditation and hypnosis. Think, love child of Meditation + Hypnosis. During a Medinosis session the facilitator will verbally instruct the group to imagine pleasing scenarios, and will affirm positive thoughts and feelings. 


Let's break it down:

  

Meditation VS. Hypnosis


Meditation is the act of focusing on a single target (such as the breath or a repeated sound) to increase awareness of the moment and is usually performed alone. The repeated practice of meditation helps one achieve mental clarity, emotional stability, and a peaceful state.


Hypnosis is facilitated by a consulting hypnotist and participants are guided into a trance-like state using verbal repetition and mental images, in which heightened focus and concentration can be achieved. During this hypnotic state, the facilitator will offer positive suggestions that the subconscious mind is open to absorb, often times, producing immediate benefits. 


* * * It is important to understand that hypnosis does not override an individual’s values or personal boundaries. People remain in control throughout the experience and are unlikely to act or communicate in ways that conflict with their core beliefs.


During hypnosis, participants are typically aware of themselves and their surroundings, both mentally and physically, while experiencing a focused and relaxed state.
